Ανδρέας Αποστόλου
O Ανδρέας Αποστόλου γεννήθηκε στις 16 Ιουλίου 1986 στη Λάρνακα.
Είναι ο πρωτότοκος γιος του Απόστολου (Λάκη) Αποστόλου και της Χριστίνας Αποστόλου (το γένος Κατωδρύτη) και έχει ακόμη τρεις αδελφούς.
Είναι νυμφευμένος με τη Θεοδοσία Αποστόλου και έχουν δύο παιδιά, τη Χριστίνα και τον Κωνσταντίνο.
Αποφοίτησε με άριστα από το Παγκύπριο Λύκειο Λάρνακας και μετά τη στρατιωτική του θητεία σπούδασε με υποτροφία στη σχολή Πολιτικών Μηχανικών στο Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο, από το οποίο αποφοίτησε με τον τίτλο Master of Engineer ως Πολιτικός Μηχανικός και Συγκοινωνιολόγος Μηχανικός. Συνέχισε τις μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές του στο Bristol Business School (UWE) στη Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων (MSc Business Management).
Είναι εγκεκριμένος εκπαιδευτής της Αρχής Ανάπτυξης Ανθρωπίνου Δυναμικού, μέλος του Συλλόγου Πολιτικών Μηχανικών Κύπρου και μέλος του ΕΤΕΚ.
Εργάστηκε σε διευθυντικές θέσεις σε διάφορες ιδιωτικές εταιρείες και ως κοινοβουλευτικός συνεργάτης στη Βουλή των Αντιπροσώπων.
Εκλέγηκε Βουλευτής Επαρχίας Λάρνακας στις βουλευτικές εκλογές του 2021.
Σε κοινοβουλευτικό, πολιτικό και κοινωνικό επίπεδο εργάζεται και δίνει ιδιαίτερη έμφαση σε θέματα υγείας, παιδείας και κοινωνικής πρόνοιας όπως επίσης και σε θέματα που αφορούν την πόλη και την επαρχία Λάρνακας.
Είναι μέλος της Μόνιμης Επιτροπής Καρκίνου της Ομοσπονδίας Συνδέσμων Ασθενών Κύπρου.
Είναι ο πρώτος Κύπριος Βουλευτής που εντάχθηκε ως μέλος στο δίκτυο των πολιτικών που στηρίζουν το European Cancer Organisation για την χάραξη πανευρωπαϊκών πολιτικών κατά του καρκίνου.
Είναι Αντιπρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Ιδρύματος Χριστίνα Α.Αποστόλου, που ιδρύθηκε στη μνήμη της μητέρας του. Το Ίδρυμα έχει ως σκοπό τη στήριξη παιδιών και νέων με χρόνιες παθήσεις καθώς και αγαθοεργίες, οι οποίες έχουν στο επίκεντρό τους τα παιδιά.
Andreas Apostolou
Andreas Apostolou was born on the 16th of July 1986. He was brought up and currently resides in Larnaca.
He is the first-born son of Apostolos (Lakis) Apostolou and the late Christina Apostolou (née Katodrytou) and he has three brothers.
He is married to Theodosia Apostolou and together they have two children; Christina and Constantinos.
He is a Pancyprian Lyceum of Larnaca distinguished graduate and after completing his military service he attended the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovion Polytechnic) where he studied on a scholarship at the School of Civil Engineering. He obtained a Masters of Engineering degree from the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering there. He carried on his postgraduate studies in Business Management (MSc) at the Bristol Business School (UWE).
He is a certified trainer according to the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (ΑΝΑΔ) model “Vocational Training Trainer” , member of Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers and member of the Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ΕΤΕΚ).
He has worked in the private sector and as a parliamentary assistant in the House of Representatives in Cyprus.
In the 2021 elections he was elected to the House of Representatives as a Representative of the Larnaca constituency.
On a parliamentary, political and social level he prioritises and works on issues regarding health, education and social welfare. He is also deeply involved in issues concerning the district and city of Larnaca.
He is a member of the Permanent Committee on Cancer of the Cyprus Federation of Patients’ Associations.
He is the first Cypriot parliamentarian to have become a member of the National and European Parliamentarians for Cancer Action that support the European Cancer Organisation in the design of better cancer-beating policies across Europe.
He is the vice-president of the board of the Christina A. Apostolou Foundation which was founded in memoriam of his late mother. The aim of the foundation is to offer support to children and young people who suffer from chronic diseases as well as do child-centered charities.
